Given the serial number AD140HTC-1351-08-04, can somebody please date this amp?

That should be August 2004, though it could be April 2008. I'm pretty sure the last two digits are the year code in that format though.

(Now how the serial numbers of any US made Orange cabs amps etc work I don't know...)

They are. By then Orange had actually got their serial numbers sorted, and the last four digits are MM-YY. British amp you see. YYYY-MM-DD is logically superior to all other formats, in case any amp manufacturers are reading this .
