Hi all - my first post!!!
Have just unearthed my 4 x 12 cab after 10 years in hibernation, and have found your great site here whilst looking in to the dateing of it.
I bought it from a second hand music shop (long since gone!) in Coventry in '92 and was a little tatty but cleaned up pretty well, good and solid and just what was needed to compete with the drummer!
Label on rear says:-
Orange Music
3/4 New Compton St
London
W.C.2
SER.NO.L.S. 7582
It has G12H speakers with Rola Celestian etc etc printed on a gold label on the magnets.
The codes vary between AL30 and BL17 (with T1217 on all), which has lead me to think 1978 from your links to a list to check from - does this sound correct??
Have no intention of selling, particularly as having just acquired a new Gretsch archtop to play through it, but curious to the sort of value, if any, of this old faithful.
Cheers
Crispo

OK - Apologies!!
Just chewing through other posts and have now read 'Buying/Selling/Talking prices on the forum info...'.
Suspect my 'value' question fall into this, so please ignore that part of post - ta.

No, asking about the value of a vintage piece of gear is OK... it's mostly current gear prices that are verboten.
My advice is always to follow an ebay auction for the same thing- since value varies by location, demand, etc.

Your dating attempt is probably right on the money. Going by the speaker date codes is usually the best way...
