Greetings. First time posting to this forum. I just got in an OR-80. I noted a posting that compared the 90's models with the 70's and I suspect that mine is from the 90's. http://www.chrisguitars.com/orange.jpg (click link then click picture to enlarge). I couldn't read the pot codes or tranny codes, but there are two orange-colored hand-written stickers inside that are dated late 1992. I'm guessing these stickers approximate the date of manufacture but they could possibly be a later date when the amp was benched. Serials are 63721 on the cabinet label and 015517 on the chassis. It's a well-made amp, made in UK, and sounds fantastic. Some of the references I've seen don't have UK made Orange amps from ca. 1992 so I'm somewhat baffled. Any help in dating, as well as approximate value would be appreciated. I traded a top-shelf Rivera for it on the basis of it being a 70's model (along with a V30 2X12 Orange cab) but it's not too late to turn off the trade. Thanks for any help. Feel free to email me directly at [email protected].

Yours is a mid 70's OR80. Its not a reissue. Te reissues had smaller fonts, a slightly differetn face plate and a metal back panel with a union jack sticker on the back of the chassis. They also didnt use the old style voltage/impedance selectors. From what i can see, its pretty stock other than some-one has replaced the Cliff Inputs with switch craft jacks and the switch has been replaced. Other than that its a pretty clean exapmple of an OR80!

Howdy,

I'm new to this forum with a 2003 AD30r. Anyway a friend is trying to get a handle on a OR80 amp. Any idea on the approximate date of the following amp. Looks 70s to me but I'm no Orange expert at all. Looks like a 6x12 cab.
