Hello!

I bought an Orange 120 with some odd specs, and I would like to find out what year it was made. It is a late 70´s or120, thats about what I know.

The funny thing is that it got the old backside, looks just like this:

And I mean just like that, with the swedish Musikbörsen-logo and the hardwired power chord.

But the front looks like this one, the OR120 Series II:

Every series II I have seen before has had the "modern" power chord which can be removed, and some other differences.

To make this post on topic, I will complete it with the serial number as soon as I get home from work.

Late 70's (meaning probably 1979 is as close as you're going to get. The different faceplates of the Series II were a 1979 feature as far as anyone has been able to determine so far.

Check for a date tag- this amp should have had one. As far as the specialized graphics on the back for that music store, that was probably a special deal/run for that store I would bet...

Oh, fast reply, thanks!

I´m still wondering about the back of the amp, it´s got more similarities to the older OR120 than to other series II amps.
Were there some "fender-style" production lines going on, so specifications can vary between two amps that looks the same on the outside? If I was to take a look inside, could I see something else than the inspection tag?
Was series II always made on a PCB, and were older amps always ptp?

I'd look through www.orangefg.com and see what you can find...
