Anyone know what year an Orange AD30R, serial OR30C/15/299 is?


Don't tell me the best way, just tell me the cheapest way...

that's strange... my ad-140 has the date it was built written in pen on the back.

Open it up. Mine - OR30C/294/300 has a tag stating 25 July 2000 inside. Let us know what yours is, maybe we could crack this secret code... maybe not.

No idea about a serial number, but another good way of working out approximately how old a combo is is by dating the speakers. If they're Celestions, take a look at:

http://professional.celestion.com/secrets/index.html

I've worked out (I think) that my speakers came off the production line in April 1999, so I presume they went into my combo sometime in the next 12 months. Therefore my AD30R must be 1999 or 2000.

You know, I never mentioned it before, but I'm shocked that serial number 001 went to the USA for sale and isn't with a major artist or someone at Orange.

Not that you're not a major artist, Sooner. Wait, that didn't come out like I meant...

But that's ridiculously cool that you have it!
