Any idea if I can get any closer? Anywhere else I might look?

No idea about a serial number, but another good way of working out approximately how old a combo is is by dating the speakers. If they're Celestions, take a look at:
http://professional.celestion.com/secrets/index.html
I've worked out (I think) that my speakers came off the production line in April 1999, so I presume they went into my combo sometime in the next 12 months. Therefore my AD30R must be 1999 or 2000.

Try contacting Orange and see if they'll give you the secret code?

You know, I never mentioned it before, but I'm shocked that serial number 001 went to the USA for sale and isn't with a major artist or someone at Orange.
Not that you're not a major artist, Sooner. Wait, that didn't come out like I meant...
But that's ridiculously cool that you have it!
