how is the Orange TC different than other 2ch amps

The TC amps seem to have two phase inverters and their own gain stages, but do they tie into one power section or two? I was emailing with a fellow a few weeks ago about the AD30TC actually being two separate 15-watt amps. He sent me the schematic but I still need to learn how to properly read one.

Does anybody know what the deal is with Orange's "two separate signal paths" used in their TC amps? From a technical standpoint, how does it differ from other two-channel amps out there? I've never really gotten it straight so can anybody here help out? Thanks.

Two power amps? No, there are two separate preamp stages but they go into the same power amp section. That is how all twin channel amps work.

What this guy is saying is that there are two 15 watt amps so you're playing through a 15 watt amp in each channel. No way- the AD30TC's are WAY louder than an AD15.

A Vox AC30 is a 30 watt amp too and the Orange AD30TC's are just as loud as the Vox so that's just silly talk...

This means you have controls for each channel, unlike other multi channel amps that share the same controls.

Oh... I'm used to Marshalls that actually HAVE all of the controls for each channel.... (6101 for example) I forgot that there were amps that call a boost a separate channel...

One really ugly thing I discovered about my Marshall was that the solo channel flips phase when you channel switch. I tried to use my 6101 and my AD30TC together and when I went to the solo channels- whoops- out of phase with each other. Not a pleasant surprise...

Ahhhhhh. I see! Thanks. My previous amps were Budda Superdrives (the 30 and the 80 watt heads). They shared EQ's and didn't have separate master volumes for each channel. And before that I used an 84' JCM 800 head (single channel of pure rock - wish I never sold it!).
