I have listed my Orange Amp on Ebay no.3706169973 and I have had so many emails about it it is untrue. It is an Orange GR050 Serial no. 151.One of the techs at Orange informs me a small production run on the Graphic 50's and the 100's were done before the 80's and the 120's were introduced.Another tech in Denmark Street isn't too sure.Is it an early Matamp? - can anyone help, it is driving me mad because I want to answer queries but my knowledge of vintage Orange amps is really sketchy.I have piccies if anyone would like to see them.
Kind regards
Ed

The pics only/plexi front amps like your GRO were made in the early 70's before the metal panel ORS models. Then the OR's came after that.
I have a Plexi Front GRO100. That looks just like your GRO50. Orange told me it's most likely a '72 or '73. Mine is serial number 559, so it's not quite as old as yours is.
Also, the pre-amp circuit on the GRO's is pretty different than the OR's. They sound darker and smoother than the later Oranges.
