I need some Orange tech support please.

I want to get a "brighter" sound with my Orange and i hear people talking about replacing valves number 1 & 2 etc. can someone point me in the right direction for some simple, easy reading material.

OR

give a suggestion of how I can brighten up my sound by changing valves. (what valves in that case would people suggest?)

THANKS!

Ei 12AX-7's are nice bright sounding pre-tubes with very nice detail and complexity. But make sure you get them from a reputable supplier who tests well for microphonics.

Also, Ei EL-84's are the same way. Great tubes with nice shimmery highs in spades.

FWIW, An easy way to brighten up an Orange without even touching the tubes is to turn the gain down.
