I got a weber solid state Rectfier $20, it sounds and feels just as good as the tube rec IMHO. The sound got a little tighter on the bottom end, maybe a little more punch and volume IMHO.

If you think you're getting poor performance out of your valve rectifier set-up, be sure you're using good valves, there's a lot of junk out there. For probably the most reliable and best sourced valves in the world, go to Watford Valves in the UK. Derek Rocco, the owner, seems to be held in very high regard in that world, his website is a wealth of info on all subjects valve, and he tests all his valves.

Just a thought. The site is www.watfordvalves.com.
