I just got a Orange AD15 amp which comes with a 5AR4 rectifier tube in it. I wanted to know if it was possible to put a 5U4GB Rectifier tube in? Has anyone put a solid state rectifier in the amp?Any info would be great. I love theis amp but there is little info on it. It dosen't even come with a Manual from the MFG. Thanks for any info.

I think 5AR4 and the GZ34 are one the same, just different part numbers for the same tube. I think the 5U4GB puts out less power then the stk tube, but I'm not sure. My amp came with Ei power and pre amp tubes and a PM MFG rectifier tube. How do you like your amp? I've used mine at home and at gigs and I think it's great.

I tried the other rectifier, not a good idea for me anyway. It just made the bass realy mushy and a lot less punch, hell no puch. I'll be trying solid state rectifier next ( only $20 ).

My AD15? Love it. Works great in my living room. My favorite souvenir from London.
