Rockerverb 50 mk iii FX Send Level

Post by GuitarWolf23 » Thu Oct 28, 2021 9:00 am

I can't find information about the output level at the fx send of a Rockerverb 50 mk iii. I want to run a Boss EQ 200 in the fx loop. The max input is rated at
+7 dBu. Will it work? Thx

Don't overthink it dude. Pedal in the loop will be just fine. Plug in and crank it up!!!

Yeah, it should be fine (if it's factory new with stock tubes).

The Boss EQ200 ($275 currently) might be overkill and maybe not your best option. Like you mentioned about +7 db max input, that's because it doesn't appear to have an input volume. Whereas the MXR 10 band ($150) has an input and output volume, however, you don't get the nice feature of savable presets like the Boss.

Personally, I think 10-bands over-complicates things though. The Rockerverb 3 already lives in its own range that's close to perfect, so it doesn't need much.

My one-size-fits-all recommendation for a loop-EQ is the Mesa Boogie 5-band ($275).
For what it is, it's pretty expensive (same price as the Boss EQ200), but it's built to last and can re-work just about any painfully mediocre amps native tone into something useable.
