Dirty channel dead on Rockerverb mkii 100w

Post by radishvibes » Thu Nov 14, 2019 4:52 am

My clean channel seems to be working fine, but when I switch to dirty channel it goes basically dead (if I can turn up the volume to max i can hear some noise but its very quiet). Sometimes, if I tap on the front of the amp it'll come back on (staticly) for a second or two and then goes back to dead. Any idea what's causing this problem?

Have you tried changing the preamp valves for the dirty channel?
They are the ECC83 in V2 and V3. It's likely one of them is dead, and should be the 1st thing to try.

With valves amps, valves are the issue in +90% of cases.

Your power valves, phase inverter, reverb and fx loop driver aren't the issue as they work for both channels.

After you have changed the valves, if it still doesn't work, you would need to get it checked by a tech.
