Hi,

somebody tell me what the best tubes (ecc83 and el84) for Orange Ad30 HTC?
I'm need space and 3d sound:-)

I would recommend electro Harmonix/sovtek ECC83.
They will give you more sparkle than JJ.

For the power valves, either Russian NOS 6P14P EV (My favorite, and long lasting, great sounding Russian military EL84 equivalent made until the 80s), otherwise, any from JJ, EH....

what do you think about tubes el84 golden dragon and TAD el84-str ?

Golden Dragon are branded Chinese Shuguang valves. They're good - not a fan of their ECC83 as I find them a bit overly noisy. I see Golden Dragon supposedly are selected for low n9ise floor and sound quality, in which case the rebranding concept is similar to TAD (See below).

TAD isnt a manufacturer, but rebranded valves from various manufacturer, which they have screened and tested by TAD.
That process should ensure that you have a lower failure rate, and perhaps better quality valves.

Groove Tubes does something similar, as well as many rebrander around the world.

They charge a but of a premium, but you get, in theory, slightly better valves in terms of reliability.

For the prices they charge, there may be better options out there. In terms of EL84, I certainly think that genuine NOS 6P14P EV offer better value and quality.

JJ's are what I recommend

I had 6P14P-EW in vox ac15 and were the best but it orange ad30thc

Now I have Sovtek El84 and are good but ....... without space.

Get some more 6P14P EV if you can. They really are superb and being extra clarity, improved low and high end in my experience.

In the preamp, you have 2 ECC83 per channel. For each channel, the 1st one is for the 2 gain stages, the 2nd one for the Phase Inverter. Preamp valves last a very long time. Check what you have in there.
I don't really like the JJ ECC83s myself, if find it dark and undefined.

At the end of the day, if the current EL84 are old and worn out, you may need to only replace those?

- tungsoul 12ax7 ballance - inventer

and 4 x el84 sovtek
all tubes is new,

I think that little be crisps down.
So, I'm looking for 6P14P-ew, now.

More importantly, can you freely score and AD30 HTC?
They have superb highs too.
