TH30 playing quiet when FX loop is used

Post by matt2404 » Thu May 09, 2019 7:36 am

Hey,
Though I am happy with my TH30h amp, I am having an issue connected with FX loop.
I got a couple of effects and once these effects (Boss DD7 and RV6) are being plugged into FX loop the amp gets quieter. I never set the volume on the clean channel for more than 1.5 for a clean channel and 2 on the dirty one, but when i use FX loop I have to at least double the volume for the amp to sound nice in my room.

I have tried plugging the delay and reverb directly into amp and I am sure they are by no mean damaged.
They sound fine on the clean channel, but I'd like to use them on a dirty channel.

What causes such volume loss when the effects are plugged into FX loop? Is it common thing in TH30h?

Thanks in the advance for the replies

Check the cables you are using to connect to the FX loop to make sure they aren't the issue.

Then your next best bet is to address the FX Loop tube.

the 12AT7 tube is the one that set the gain to the effect loop. It's under 20$ to buy one and check if it's the issue.

On my TH100, the effect loop gets noisy. I just ordered a new tube.
