Overdrive pedal with OR15

Post by Pa7tip » Mon Mar 11, 2019 11:58 pm

Anyone have the issue of the OR15 sounding like its getting choked out when adding an overdrive pedal? I have a Fulltone OCD pedal and when I stomp it suddenly it sounds and feels like the notes struggle to get through. Could this be a tube problem?

I don't have an OCD pedal but I have several ODs and don't think I have experienced your problem. See your other post about possible valve problems.
Can you let us know what gear you are using and how you have the amp set?

I’m using the orange 1x12 cab. I have a carbon copy delay in the loop. For guitars I am mainly using a fender American professional tele HH and an American standard tele. Master volume on the OR15 at around 1 o’clock and gain at about 11 o’clock when trying use the OD pedals, of course I have tried different setting as well. I also have a TS9 tubescreamer along with the OCD.

Haven’t tried it with another amp. I have been using AmpliTube for the past few years and just decided to go back to a tube amp. I did take the back off of the amp and one of the power tubes wasn’t sitting properly. I pushed it in and it seems much better now.
