VT1000 Tube tester adapters

Post by JCWamplifier » Mon Mar 11, 2019 2:35 pm

I will be getting my VT1000 in a few days. I have made an adapter for 7027 valve since it is internally identical to a 6L6GC. The adapter passes all pins except pin 1 and 6 which are not present on a 6L6. I will see how it works on the 7027's. Let me know if any one else has any adapters for tubes for the VT 1000.

Thanks
Joe

It worked like a charm.

Neat. I don’t own one, but cool to hear it worked.

Since those pins are not used on the 6L6, I would think it might work without the adapter as well.

I have tried an adapter to allow some octal valves in place of noval. The 6SN7 does not test correctly, not as 12AU7/ECC82 which would be the closest, or anything else. Just tests as faulty, even if that is not the case.

A 6SL7 however, can be tested as an ECC83, but the ones I have test as better than the best ECC83 I ever had. Personally I think the tester is just not calibrated for them. The adapter I have is for a 6V heater on the amp, not 12V.

I'll probably make an adapter for Soviet 6N1P and 6N2P valves sometime.
