Micro Dark direct recording issues

Just created a profile purely to try and find some answers.

Just purchased a Micro Dark from a guy today.
Haven't got a cab but know of the Cab SIM and ability to record direct to interface

Noice.

Plug my guitar into the amp, some headphones into the jack and plug in the power pack and turn it on. All sounds great, just as I'd hoped.

But as soon as I changed it over to run into my audio interface, now it sounds like dogshite. Sounds like a bee mated with a buzz saw and it's slowly dying. And the signal is weak as fudge

Im at a loss!
Any help would be appreciated

You can spend hours looking into the audio settings for computers, it's really frustrating.

But besides that, you might want to try a stereo cable to see what happens. I have a hunch it's the settings, but try that as well.

It doesnt make any sense though.

I run into that interface everyday and its fine. I checked all the cables and theyre fine. I've ordered some new ones but i dont think its going to change.

How could it be fine one minute running out to headphones but then awful next minute running into the interface?

That's what computer settings do. There is not only an input level control, but another one which does something else internally so you can get a distorted sound with a low level, plus mic/line and whatever other settings. Someone could write a book about it, it can't be covered in a thread on a forum, nor do I understand them fully.

What do you normally run into that interface?
