Concern about CR120H with a Randall cabinet

I'm curious on what the official technical opinion on this would be. I used to have a Randall cabinet that I loved. It was from their XL line and had 2 12" speakers and 1 15" speaker in it. I happened to stumble across someone selling one locally. They don't make these anymore. I want to get it but I'm worried that it may mess up the CR120H. I don't know how true this is because I simply got this information from a Randall group on Facebook, but I was told that Randall stopped making these cabinets because they were causing some heads to fry. The reason I was given:

"They blow up amp heads. They don't have a very regular ohm load and unless its an amp with a lot flex in the ohm factor they blow up. The Xl series 2x12 1x15 cab (thats what I have) is like a 6 ohm load. (rounded off I think when I tested it. it was like 5.6 ohms) if your amps transformer can't handle that it will blow something."

If I recall, the cabinet was listed as being 8 ohm but apparently tests a little lower. Do you think this would mess up my CR120H if I use it?

What is the minimums ohms your CR120 wants to see?

Solid state amps only flex one way, and that's up. You can increase the ohms load, all it will do is reduce the wattage. But go below, and you will fry it. If the crush is rated 8ohms minimum, don't get that cab.

I've just checked - it is 8ohms minimum. Don't get that cab unless you can rewire/swap speakers and achieve an actual load minimum of 8 ohms. You could go over, but not lower.

It looks like indeed the early models used three 16 ohm speakers and were actually 5.3 ohms even though they said 8 ohms on the cabinet. Apparently they changed the design at some point and (I assume) started using two 8 and one 16 ohm speakers wired in series/parallel where the total impedance is actually 8 ohms. The new design probably altered the speaker characteristics also since the 8 ohm speakers will each get half as much power as the 16 ohm speaker.
