MT20 without speaker load

I just picked up the MT20 micro terror amp head and would like to run direct into the soundboard using the speaker out on the amp head into the “from amp” jack on my Joyo JDI-01 direct box and then into the soundboard via the XLR output without having a speaker load connected. I have read online that it is safe to run this amp without a speaker using only the headphone output since is a hybrid amp with a solid state power section but I just wanted to make sure this is true when using the speaker out jack with a speaker connected. Does anybody know if this is safe to do? Thanks.
