Hi, i've got an ad30tc since 2005. In these days I noticed a low hum noise when I switch on the amp, even if there is nothing plug into it. It comes from the amp, not from the speakers... I know that every tube amp has a background noise caused by transformers, but now it seems to me more louder. it's not louder than the sound when I play, and the hum remains at the same volume independently from the volume of the amp.
I have a doubt... has the amp some issue, or am I become more susceptible to noise cause i play at very low volume nowadays?
The tubes are new, a couple of months old.
Maybe someone with the same amp can test how many db of noise it makes when switched on and with nothing plugged in? I have a couple of apps in my iphone that can measure db.
thank you

How loud? Sounds like it may have always been there but you're just noticing it now.
Change gain and/or volume settings and see how that is...
