Hi gents, My orange crush 20 keeps blowing fuses. Any ideas on what could be the cause? Ive looked at the board and there are no bulging caps or blown resistors etc that I can visibly see.
Could the Td2050 chip be the cause?
Im having trouble trying to find a schematic. I found one but it seems slightly different.

Re: Orange crush 20 Blowing fuses
Well I removed the TDA2050 chip and put a 500ma fuse in as thats all I had and it didnt blow. So Im assuming I need to replcae the TDa2050. Problem is I cant seem to find a TDA2050 anywhere local.
So can I use an LM1875 instead?

So I soldered in the LM1875 and she works fine. No blown fuses and sounds great.
Thanks for all the help, couldn't have done it without you guys..

Well done!!!
Most of us hanging around here own some of the valve amps. Sorry we couldn't help you, but glad you got it sorted yourself!!!!

Yeah so am I...lol. One thing thigh is that when I turn up the Dirty know the amp seems to get less distortion although louder. As I turn it down the distortion increases but of course so does volume so I have to turn up the volume on the guitar.
This is of course without touching the Gain knob which is just a touch off full. Is this correct? Is this how the dirty knob works?

Few of us here would claim to know much about solid state circuits. Personally I wouldn't claim to know much about any electronic circuits! However: LM1875 does appear to be different to TDA2050. It seems logical that potentiometers, resistors etc. associated with one would be less than optimum for the other.
Maybe you should keep looking for the right component?
