No Sound from TH30 Combo

Post by kmb8488 » Fri Jun 01, 2018 4:52 am

Hey all!

Took my TH30 combo to practice tonight and flipped the standby switch only to find that I can't get sound from either channel. Any idea where to check first? No tinkering with volume, channels or half/full power yields any sound. I once lost the dirty channel to tube failure, but this is the first time the entire amp has gone. Power light works, FWIW.

Thanks!

The most likely explanation is that the HT fuse is blown due to a bad power tube.

You can check the HT fuse (NOT the mains fuse) to see if this is the case.

As stated above, check the HT fuse and power valves.

Be aware that a fuse can look obviously blown, or look intact and still be blown. If it doesn't look blown, you may need a multimeter to check it fully.
