Crush 12 - loud buzzing but nothing else?

Hi guys,
Newbie here so hello!!!
I picked up a non-working crush 12 locally, thinking the fix to the buzz would be a simple lose speaker cable or de-soldered input jack...but alas...checked both and they are as they should be.
The amp just makes a super loud buzz when it's turned in (with and without guitar connected). The only thing that stops the buzz is connecting a cable to the headphone jack?
