Got the funds and ready to purchase but question on the clean.

How clean does the Rockerverb 100 MKiii stay clean before it starts to breakup? Halfway turned up? Quarter ways up or what? I’m not looking for early breakup

Unless you are playing un-miced arenas you will be fine for clean headroom.

So “if” un-miced how far can the clean volume be cranked up till it starts to breakup? 9 o’clock, 12 o’clock or whereabouts?

And Thanks for the quick response

With my MK1 I was running around 2 oclock on the clean side and it was still crystal. I never went any louder as that was already painful with earplugs in.

Awesome answer. If they are supposed to have made the MKiii clean channel more clean as they say then I should be good.

Btw have you tried different power tubes and if so what did you seem to like best?

No I've only ever used JJ's. They sound fine to me.

To be honest, the question of where the volume knob is before it starts breaking up is somewhat misleading.

Different manufacturers use different potentiometer type (linear or logarithmic) for their volume control, and that al9ne makes comparisons difficult to make.

However, painful with earplugs in and still crystal clear, that's something we all understand.

Orange amps use logarithmic pots, meaning the volume doesn't get super loud until the later parts of the pots turn.
Fender often use linear pots, meaning the volume is almost maxed by the 1st 1/3 of the volume pot.
