Rocker 30 issue

Hi guys,

I’m the proud owner of a Rocker 30 but last week when I flicked it on the power light didn’t light up but I could see the tubes were heating. I went to open the casing for the bulb and heard POP!
One power tube gone. Got myself a matched pair of jjel34 and popped them in. No sound. Not even a hum. I’ve taken out the 500mA fuse and that’s blown. I’m hoping this is the cause.

Has anyone any other ideas as to what could be the problem? And is it quick blow fuse I need?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a bad tube caused the fuse to blow, which is why it's there. The heater circuit for the phase inverter (preamp tube furthest from the input) and power tubes are on the same circuit as the bulb so if the tubes light up, then it was just the bulb. The HT Fuse is a T500mA, which is time delay. When you put new tubes in, if the fuse blows again, do not continue replacing the fuse. Get the amp checked.

Thanks for the reply Jondog.

I replaced the tubes this morning and there was still no sound. The power light did flick on and immediately went off again.
Tubes still heating so hoping it’s the fuse and nothing too serious.

Would it be a bad idea to put a quickblow fuse in or does it need to be time delay?

Sooooo. I’ve changed the fuse, power light stays on (very faint flickering) tubes are warming but still no sound.

I’ve exhausted what I could probably fix so I think it’s to the tech I have to go.

Probably a good idea. Theres a number of things it could be.
