Which fuse were you checking? The HT fuse is in the circular black holder and the mains fuse is in the "drawer" below the power socket.

I checked both those fuses, now on the combo the is a red fuse? Switch to change from USA to Euro power. Is there a way to test that fuse? The led comes on so don't think that would matter?

Correct. I had a fuse look fine in my AD15 when the valve heater circuit failed.... yet it was blown.

Unless you check it with multimeter, you cannot be sure.

Update for some reason the ht fuse was higher amps than it should have been.his tech thinks an el84 shorted and blow up the rectifier tube instead of the fuse

Ouch.

"His tech" -- so I gather you returned it and he got it fixed?

With used amps it's always a good idea to verify that they have the correct fuses. A frightening number of people think the cure for a blown fuse is to replace it with a higher rated fuse.

And with used cabinets it's always good to verify the impedance. Speakers may not be stock, wiring may be altered. Just because the stock cab is supposed to be 8 ohms doesn't guarantee some nimrod didn't change it to series wiring and it's actually 32 ohms.
