So I have swapped out the votw speaker with a v30 and added a PPC112 extension with a v30 for a mini stack.
Now this amp sounds just like a rockerverb! You also get a significant volume increase. And your clean channel has way more headroom and clarity.
And the dirty channel you can putvthe gain past 3oclock and it chuggs heavy now.

It's amazing how a good speaker can make a huge difference.

People often ignore that part of the sound chain, when it's just as important as the Guitar/amp/cabinet design parts.

Or two speakers. Funnily enough though I like them I don’t think V.30s sound that great solo. Two or more are great, but I was actually pretty impressed with the 12” VOW in my mate’s TT combo. Thought it sounded better than I’d have expected from say the V.30 in my R.30...

Have just discovered what may become my new secret weapon as a guitar cab - a superb 7.5kg bass cab, and not a Celestion in sight! ;)

Andy.

The internal speaker in the CR60 is, according to the manual, 16ohms. So - assuming solid state Oranges work the same way as SS Marshall’s - adding the extension cab drops you to 8ohms which is when the amp delivers the full 60W, which I think will explain the increase in headroom?
