Dark Terror - jumping effects loop???

Post by robbvant » Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:13 pm

So i want to know if anyone else has tried this.
I have it in the 7w mode, controls left to right volume 3 oclock, shape 3 oclock, gain 2 oclock
im going into a jimroot 212.
i jumped the effects loop just to see if it would give it a boost of anything, cause i have done it on other amps and it does on some.
is it just me or does this really tighten up the sound?

Edit: Correction I understand now, I thought you were jumping a DT into a JR then into a cab. OKAY! With the RVMK1 series there was a noticeable drop in tone when jumping the loop. I believe the DT loop it tube buffered so technically jumping it would introduce that tube into the signal would it not? Perhaps the EL has a bit of the low end rolled off to keep effects from getting muddy, and once you blend that into the original signal (by jumping) it seems tighter.

Yeah it’s a bit of a boost I guess but just cranking the volume sounds better, I wonder what something like a mini spark boost would do in the effects loop?
