I'm looking to swap my pickguard on my Orange O Bass and I was wondering if anyone knew if the volume and tone knobs are meant to just pull off or if there's a different trick to them. I'm having trouble removing them and I wanted to check before using force and inadvertently causing unnecessary damage.

No idea offhand, but did you check for a set screw on the side of the knobs?

If theres no set screw, slide a rag or shoe lace under on each side and pull up cautiously. If they’re push on knobs a lot if times they are very tight the first time they are installed.
