Terror Bass designation?

Post by shlinder » Tue Jun 06, 2017 9:08 am

I am looking for a Terror Bass 500, which, obviously, I have to buy used (sucks it was discontinued). I have heard, however, that early models had technical problems that were remedied in later production batches. When I am looking for a used unit, how can I tell if a TB is from an early batch or later, i.e. how can I tell if it is a "good" one? Is there any designation on the unit that I should look for? How can I know?

Actually if you are talking about the batch which went out with defective output transistors a number of years back, Orange will have probably fixed most of those under warranty. Shouldn't be a big problem, especially if you actually give the amp a proper test run before buying.

Other issue I recall was rather too hot DI outputs. Again that was sorted, don't recall exactly when.
