Orange Rocker 15 cracks and pops on Standby switch

Post by roybatty » Sat May 06, 2017 7:36 am

Hello,

I have a problem with my new Orange Rocker 15 Tube Amp: After a longer playing time I'm switching it back from play mode to standby. When toggling the switch it makes a loud pop or crack. I'm not sure if this comes from the speaker or the internal electric.

Does this mean the amp is damaged?

Thanks

It's possible to have DC voltage arcing on the switch causing a pop. Although not good for the switch over time, normal. Design flaw in stand-by switches. However,I can't say that is what is happening in your amp.
