Can I go from el34 to 5881 power tubes in my ad50 cs

Just for fun I would like to try a pair of 5881 power amp tubes I found yesterday. Can I just replace the el34s in my custom shop ad50 with a pair of 5881 (Tungsol) tubes? Seems to be more normal going the other way from 5881 to el34

It's not a straight swap. Some re-wiring and re-biasing.

Okay, thanks. Even if I only run the amp on the 30 watt setting (cathode bias mode)

I would say the cathode bias most likely would need to be changed too. Pretty sure they operate at different currents.
