Rocker 30 power indicator light

Post by bobbythompson65 » Sat Apr 15, 2017 9:52 am

Longtime player, but I'm new to Orange amps and this forum. I just picked up a used (but mint condition) Rocker 30 about a month ago and I am EXTREMELY impressed with this little amp. It hurts me to say it, but it sounds better than my old JCM800!! Makes me wonder why I never tried one of these out decades ago! Anyhow, I have a question (or two) about my new favorite amp:

1) The power indicator light is not working at all. Everything else works just fine so I don't think their are any power circuit issues. I haven't looked at all, but can I just replace a bulb or do I need a tech to fix this?

2) I'm wondering how well one of these amps would drive an additional Orange 2x12 cabinet (PPC212 or PPC212-OB, I'm not sure which would suit me better), or possibly even 4x12 cabinet. It should be a direct plug n' play shouldn't it????

Any advice will be GREATLY appreciated!!

Congrats on the amp. Probably my favorite Orange amp. The bulb is replaceable easily. Just unscrew the jewel, and you'll see the bulb. It's a push and turn to get it out. 6.3 volt bulb like this - https://www.amplifiedparts.com/products ... yonet-base . I usually order them from online suppliers when I'm ordering a bunch of parts, but I have found them in local hardware stores. If a new bulb doesn't do the trick then it's probably a connection issue a tech should look at.
You'll have no problem driving another cab! Just make sure you use the proper outputs! Two 16 ohm cabs = 8 ohms so plug each 16 ohm cab into each 8 ohm output, or if the cabs are daisy chained, use one 8 ohm output.
