Micro Dark sounds like speaker is blown

Post by Wipper138 » Tue Feb 07, 2017 4:30 am

I am using a Micro Dark and running it though a 1x8 orange Cab. Any time there is 2 or more strings strummed it is giving me a scratchy sound like the speaker is blown. Replaced cables, removed all effects, tried a differ guitar, removed cab and used headphone port (with headphones) and sound is still there. Gain knob seems to effect it and make it worse as it is raised. shape doesn't seem to effect the sound of scratchiness. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this, I really enjoy this thing and just got it it November, and now is my only amp as I had a junky little fender front man I gave away because i got this.

You should still be under warranty so it might be a case of taking it back to the dealer.

If you can't do that, it might be worth trying electrical contact cleaner on the pots, jack sockets etc.

If you have a spare valve try swapping the valves too.

Got it new off eBay, hindsight that seems to not have been a good idea.ill pick up some contact cleaner and give that a try. Right now it's so horrible it's unusable.
