Dark Terror in to PPC410 - ohm help!?

Post by reidjrnl » Mon Dec 12, 2016 9:43 pm

Really quick one for an amp/cab noob (I've previously only ever owned combos)

I've just got hold of a dark terror and a cheap PPC410, the dark terror has 3 speaker outputs

8ohm
8ohm
16ohm

The PPC410 had 2 inputs and is a 16ohm cab.

What's the best (or the only!) way to hook the amp up to the cab?

Is it just going out from the 16ohm speaker out in to the left input of the cab?
Or is it 2 8ohm out in to the 2 inputs

Sorry for sounding like an idiot, but I know you guys will be able to tell me straight away.

I had a quick google but couldn't find anything that helped or that I understood!

Thanks for your time

Unless the back plate is labelled as a stereo plate (usually switchable to mono), your cab is simply 16ohm cab.

Plug in either plug, the 2nd jack is to daisy chain it another cab.

The main thing is you will need a speaker cable, not a guitar cable (totally different, you will fry your amp if you use a guitar cable there) and plug from the 16ohm amp tap to either (not both!!!!) of the cab jack plug.

Thanks for the quick reply Ant,

So straight out of the 16ohm speaker output on the amp in to either of the inputs on the cab.

Looking forward to trying this thing out!
