Wire output jack for 16 ohm and 4 ohm on PPC212

Post by cbergs » Tue Aug 09, 2016 7:45 pm

I am looking for some advice on rewiring my 212. I am only going to be using it at home and looking at it being the only cab left at home. I currently have a Mini Rectifier that runs 4 and 8 ohms and a Jim root Tiny Terror that does 16 ohm and 8 ohm. Has any one ever tired the one side of the jack with one impedance and left the other side the same? Or should i just by the rectifier 212 that is just 8 ohm?

You're not talking about running two amps into one cabinet, right? Because that is a big no.

Please explain again - I'm not sure what you're asking....

No not 2 amps at the same time but being able to use different amps. 1 at a time on the same cab.

Thanks jontheid that's what I am looking for. Just curious if anyone has done that with the existing jack plate.

Thanks.

I have a 4x10 bass cabinet that I've been running with a switch that converts from series to parallel. The cab runs 2Ω or 8Ω. It's worked for like 20 years. So, it can be done.

Yeah, I did the same thing with a Fender cab... wasn't sure what he was initially asking.

I guess I forgot to say it's a ppc212.

Very expensive, but you can always install one of these. Dimensions are there to check compatibility.
