I don't think it will matter which switch you use. The Crush amps all seem to light the foot switch LED when the Clean Channel is in use.

I'm making a spare switch for my Dual Terror. In the FS-1, can the resistor be deleted? I subbed a Mesa Rectifier switch and all worked correctly. The Mesa switch has a LED but no resistor.

The LED has to be able to handle the voltage or it will blow. That's why the resistor is there. Not familiar with how Mesa wires theirs up or what voltage they're sending to the switch.

Thanks!

Radio Shack has a variety of 470 ohm resistors--all rated by different wattages. Which wattage is the FS-1 resistor? I've already tried a half-watt size (seems much too big) and it does not allow the light to function.

AND which size, power-wise, of LED is correct?

Just a regular 3 or 5mm led and around 1k-1.5k resistor. 1/2 watt is fine.

Bear in mind that the LED is polarised. That is, it will only work one way round - it only allows current to flow in one direction.

If it isn't working the way you have it, try swapping the led connections.
I can't see why it wouldn't work with a 470 ohm resistor.

Cheers,

Also, these led don't need too much heat to fry when you solder them. It's easy to destroy them if you spend a little too long there with your iron.
