Getting started with DIVO TubeSync

Post by bclaire » Tue Apr 15, 2014 11:38 pm

This sticky refers to the tube/valve optimization device, the Orange OV4 TubeSync. I'm going to try to put all of the information available in this sticky to help you.

One very important consideration: you will probably have to remove the chassis (slide it out) to fit the DIVO tube/valve sockets and tubes/valves in. There is very little clearance between the top of the tubes/valves and the head sleeve. I was able to fit the tubes/valves into the DIVO socket and then angled them in on my OR80M because it has slightly more space than recent amps. I'm talking 3/8 of an inch.

Remember, amplifiers contain voltages that could kill you so be careful not to touch anything inside the amp.

Manuals can be found here:

DIVO OV 4 Manual
DIVO Installation Guide

Bias Runner Information card

Software is available for both PC and Mac. Contact Orange if you need the Mac version.
It is vitally important that you do not have the amp on or plugged in when you hook up your computer to the DIVO.

Here's what they look like installed on the back of an OR80M and an AD140TC:

Where are you? If you're in the USA, I would contact Humbucker Music....

Yes you can. There's a model for 2 tube amps. MikeD here on the forum has one installed in his RV50MKll.

And one of my amps in the first pictures is a two tube model. Same product but different two tube connector.

Yes, I know about OV2 but OV4 is, in my opinion, more versatile. Does anyone know how this equipment regulate bias. How OV4 affects the bias of the tube?

There's no OV2. It's the OV4 with a different tube connector (as bclaire said).

Propably "true" OV2 is EOL, and OV4 with 2 adapters is replacement of OV2. Image

Oh, never seen that! I know MikeD's unit had 'OV4' written on the original package.

the only difference was that it had "2 valve model" ticked in on the box and there were only 2 connectors

Right - as far as I am aware, the only difference is a different connector and markings on the box and maybe a label.

I checked, OV4 does not work properly with 2 tube amp. It detects fault and disables BIAS.
