Speakers for OR80 1972 Combo

So, the chassis is nearing completion, and with the Variac I've got at least a temporary solution for the B+ and some tubes that're working. Now I've gotta figure out speakers. I have a Ceramic Weber Thames, which is supposed to be a copy of a Fane, although others say it sounds a bit more Celestion. It seems a good compromise since I have it already and these amps were delivered with either Celestion G12H30 or Fane "Medusa" 50w speakers in England. I don't really have a source for the Emminence with the felt-dotted metal dome and square magnet for the "American" flavored. I have heard good things about the EV12M but I don't know if I want that kind of weight in this cab. Any other suggestions? Should I get an Alnico Fane or Celestion, or copy (I actually have a Celestion Gold I could use, and a couple of versions of the Weber Blue Dogs). If a copy, which? Or go to the source and get the new Fane Medusa 150c?

Alrrrriiiggght, let's make the question simpler. Any suggestions for speakers for an OR80 combo? Rather avoid the stock G12H30s since I would undoubtedly blow them up!

I am, for whatever reason, not interested in eminence speakers. I've always been into Celestion for guitar and electro-voice for bass. For a 2x12 combo, I'd go with Celestion Vintage 30s. You'll have the power handling for the amp and then some.

I've got closed back cabs with Greenbacks, H30s, Fanes and V30s, as well as semi open with SRO EVs, EVM12s and JBL E120s so I'll be able to try those, but no open back cabs with them... Any other thoughts?

Yes. Put the V30s in the open back cab and go.

Only had it home 2 days. Into a closed/open back cab with EV alnico SROs? Meh…
Into the Orange 412 with a mixed bag of original Fanes? Now THAT's what we're talking about! Great tone, crunch and touch sensitivity… I'll try out the V30 cab tomorrow.
