New speakers for AD30htc

Hi guys!

I´m a new Orange owner from Montevideo Uruguay. I play a Les Paul Studio Vintage Mahogany with my AD30 twin channel head.

I´m willing to change the speakers of my 2x12 Laney cab (crappy Celestion Seventy 80 in there). I´ve read tons of threads in the subject and I´m about to get some WGS speakers (seems cool and a lot cheaper to get from the states to Uruguay). Any experience with them?

Some combinations come to my mind:

Retro30 + ET65 (too bright maybe?)

Veteran 30 + ET65

Any AD30 users with WGS speakers? I´ll appreciate any input!

I don't know about WSG, I run Eminence Governor + Wizard speakers in my cab, and imho, they are very good, and well matching each other. I'm more on british sound. Orange cab usually have celestion V30 I think.

I have an AD30 HTC and run WGS Invader speakers (greenback clone but 50w) and they sound great. They work well open or closed back.

I did listen some clips of the invader speakers... seems to sound really great!

Anyone had experience with the retro 30 in their AD30?

I've tried most of the WGS speakers (and Celstions, Scumback, Eminence, ASW, etc.). The Invader really did nothing for me. My fave WGS would have to be the Blackhawk 50 alnico, but it's $$$. There are better greenback, g12h, etc. speakers to be had.

The Retro 50 was cool but has a huge bottom end and lots of low mids. I think I would opt for the Veteran 30 or Green Beret, even the standard Reaper over the Invader, Liberator, ET-65, Reaper HP or Retro 30.

The Celestion G12-65 is cool but very warm and SMOOTH.

Weber Legacy series, M75 spec, Eminence Private Jacks or ASW KTS70/60 would be my top picks.
