Impedance

My Orange has an impedance of 16ohms. 1-16ohm and 2- 8ohm outputs.
2x12 8ohm speakers connected in series giving 16ohms is in the 16ohm output right now.
My 4x12 cab is 8ohms.
If I disconnect the 16, can I use only one 8ohm output for the cab or do you have to use both 8ohm outputs to make 16ohms?
Will I have to get another 4x12 8ohm cab, or to run one 4x12 it has to be 16 ohms?
Also, can all 3 outputs be used at once with matching impedance, 16, 8 and 8?

no.... you can't use all three. You can use one 16 ohm cab alone with the 16 ohm output; or two 16 ohm cabs with the two 8 ohm outputs; or one 8 ohm cab with the 8 ohm output but that's it. Don't mix cabs of different inpedances or try three cabs unless you want to find out how much an output transformer costs..... Billy

To use 2 cabs, shouldn't they both be 8ohms, using both 8ohm outputs each, giving a total of 16ohms?
I can see a 16ohm cab using the one 16ohm output. But to use two 16ohm cabs one in the 16 and one in the 8 seems strange!
