Hope the kinks are fixed in my Rocker 30

So I bought a used Rocker 30 head which I think came with old tubes. It was fine a low volumes and it was always used in a home environment by the previous owner. It's in A+ shape. First after a couple days of playing with the tubes pushed a bit, one red plated on me. Checked inside everything looked alright visually, so I put new tubes in and back up running. Couple days later I cranked it to really hear it roar and discovered a microphonic preamp tube and then POP!......nothing. Was just about to shat myself. Couldn't tell if I blew a fuse because it has ceramic fuses, pulled my Dual Terrors fuse out and preamp tubes did the swap and everything has been good for a couple days. Sure Hope it's just a case of old tubes! Also, what's better, ceramic or slow blow glass fuses like the Dual Terror had?
