Hi All,
I've recently bought a TH30 which I'm really pleased with.
Ok - major noob question but here goes...
I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the best practise is for switching power stages i.e. 30 to 15 to 7 watts.
Can it damage the amp or reduce the life of the tubes if power stages are switched while the amp is on and not in standby or is it best to change from 2 to 4 output tubes or 15 / 30 watts while the amp is in standby (or even turned off altogether)?
Cheers for the help.
Olly

Re: TH30 - Power Stages
The proper procedure would be to switch between power modes with the amp in Standby or turned off altogether.

I'm glad you asked. I've been wondering the same thing.
What about changing from clean to dirty channels?

Channel switching is a preamp function and is safe to do while playing, which is how most people use it.JackoMBA wrote:I'm glad you asked. I've been wondering the same thing.
