Hi again folks,

In order to cure hum no 2 in my amp lol, I am looking for a supplier (preferably UK) of can capacitors to obtain filter capacitors for my orange as one has leaked. Hopefully I can find one and will not have to use axial capacitors.

The caps are 100mf at 450V.

Anybody know any suppliers??

Cheers

I buy all my electronic parts locally from a place called Norvac Electronics here in Eugene, Oregon. I don't know if they ship stuff elsewhere. I don't see why not. Check to see if they have a website....almost everyone does nowadays.

Hi Aerocol,

Here is a link to Triode Electronics in Chicago. They have 100Mfd 500v capacitors made by JJ that should fit into place. I used them on a Marshall I had to fix a few years ago and they've worked non-stop since.

Also, mouser electronics in Texas has them. Here's a link to the item page.

...hope that helps.

RS trade counter or Maplins in the UK will have pretty much anything and everything to do with electronics. If there's not a store in your town...

rswww.com (no www at the start)
www.maplins.com

Probably be a bit cheaper than postage from the States :-)

Hay Aerocol, if your still struggling to find that capacitor, try contacting MatamP, im sure they'll send you them if they've got them, and knowing Matamp they'll be top notch and cheap!!!

I used 2 of these JJ 50/50mfd-500V cans in my OR-120. Just wire the 2 50mfd sections in parallel for 100mfd.

They were like $10 a piece from Antique electronics. www.tubesandmore.com

Hope that helps.
