cab question : 2x12->1x12

Hi everybody,
i have a ppc212 open back cab, which is a 16ohms cab, wired in series. Can you confirm that this means each speaker is a 8ohm speaker?
Cause it's not mentionned on the speaker itself, and I'd like to use it as a 1x12 (with a little rewiring), but i don't want to mess my amp.
