Daisy chaining

Post by bluemoon » Thu Apr 01, 2010 12:18 pm

I have a tt head and and orange 1x12 cab. It's 16 ohm. If I bought a second 16 ohm cab, I could either daisy chain it to the orange cab and use the 8 ohm output on the tt or run one into one of the 8 ohm outputs and the other into the second 8 ohm output....right?

If my above understanding is correct, is there any pros and cons of daisy chaining versus connecting both cabs directly to the amp?

your correct.
no real pros,
no real cons.
the dual 8 ohm outputs help if your cab isn't set up with a parallel input for daisy chaining, as a lot of vintage cabs are.

The only minor difference is that you could get away with using one slightly shorter cable with daisy-chaining, but we're only talking about 10 inches or so (unless you like to keep your head across the room from the cabs for some reason :D ).
