Okay, first off, I finally got to pick up my new Orange head today! It sounds great. This question could easily be answered in an owner's manual, but my head didn't come with one. Anyway, my amp has 3 speaker outs. One is labeled 16ohms, the other two are labeled 8ohms. Here's my question: I know with 2 16ohm cabinets, the amp only sees 8 ohms. I'd like to use both of my 16ohm 412's. Do I plug them both into the 2 8ohm outputs since that's the total impedence seen by the amp? Thanks for the help!

Yes, I understand that an amp has to work twice as hard to create power at 1/2 of the impedence. My question is: Are the two 8 ohm jacks designed to run 2 16 ohm cabs (the two jacks wired in parallel internally for a total mean impedence of 8 ohms) or are they designed to run two 8 ohm cabs for a total resistance of 4 ohms?
Thanks,

why dont you just daisy chain the cabinets and plug the top one into one of the 8ohm speaker outs. why would you want to run a y-cable? sounds like a hassle to me.

Neither of my cabinets have a "parallel input". They only have one jack, no daisy chaining possible. That would be my preference, but oh well. Thanks anyway!
