Hi again,
just wondering how I'd go about making an AD30R into 50 or 60 watts, whichever is easiest, I'm not all that knowledgeable about valves and hwo they work, but I kinda assumed that replacing EL84s with EL34s (from what I can gather) OR increasing the ammount of valves would achive this?

Once again any help MUCHLY appreciated! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Don't even consider going down this route. Basically, you can't do it. If you are unhappy with the AD30 you should sell it and get a larger amp.

Agreed...

You'd have to drill the chassis out for te larger tube sockets, replace the output transformer, possibly replace the power transformer (which wouldn't handle the current draw for EL-34's), and you couldn't use the tube rectifier unless it was pushing under 60W or so. you'd either have to add a second tube rectifier (more drilling, and a filament tranny or new power tranny too), or switch to a diode bridge rectifier.

Basically...it would probably be easier to make an amp from scratch. I'd sell it and look into something that you'd be happier with.

Hope that helps.

@Iron_Man
I'm in the same postion, I also have the AD30 and I was
not satisfied with it's maximum loudness...
I used an effect-board (Korg ToneWorks) as a pre-amp and got a louder sound!
But I will buy the Seymour-Duncan-Pickup-Booster, which has a great boost-effect, which is more effectiv and useful than my effect-board...
It's an easier and much cheaper way and you will also get more loudness and boost, whithout losing the original Orange-Sound.
