I own a 1972 80 watt head running through a 2x 12 mid '70's orange cab. I play in a band and whenever my bass player or drummer play loudly in our jam space , a buzzing starts coming out of my baby. If i give it a light tap on the top of the head it stops. It sounds like a short to me but a short where?

Unplug the amp from the wall and try reseating the tubes for a start. Carefull even unplugged the amps filter caps store enough voltage to do serious damage.
